Bridging explores ideas of connection, how different elements come together to form relationships or transitions. Using reed and thread, I investigated how woven surfaces can move beyond flatness and begin to occupy space.

I worked with waffle weave because of its inherent grid and dimensional texture, which naturally creates pockets, tension, and rhythm. This structure felt closely connected to the idea of bridging, of creating forms that both connect and hold.

Reed was a material I had experimented with in earlier work, and returning to it allowed me to extend that inquiry further. By combining reed with thread, I was able to bridge traditional flat weaving with sculptural possibilities, exploring how a woven form can become architectural, responsive, and spatial.
